Ver 5.501 - Songs.MDB TimeStamp on Re-Importing BIN

OS Vista 32-Bit, but had similar results on WIN7 32-Bit only with a DIFFERENT TIMESTAMP.
Re-Importing BIN file that already exists.

Sc8862-13 - Keith, Toby & Scottie Emerick - Weed With Willie.bin

Previous Songs.MDB, dated 11/29/2017 shows TIMESTAMP column is: 2014/02/13

After re-importing song, the Current Songs.MDB, dated 11/30/2017 shows TIMESTAMP column is:
2015/12/11.

My WIN7 32 shows a TIMESTAMP of 2017/07/04.

My date of re-importing is 11/30/2017. Should it not show this date?

Or, is this a Random date so that a re-imported file DOES NOT end up listed with NEW files that happened to be imported on the SAME DATE, if one wishes a chronological sort on the TIMESTAMP column in order to ONLY find what was NEWLY imported on any given date?

I don’t know. This is the first time I compared an existing TIMESTAMP with an UPDATED TIMESTAMP of a re-imported Song.

Re: Ver 5.501 - Songs.MDB TimeStamp on Re-Importing BIN

I just tried re importing a zip type file and that is giving me a date of 2015/05/14

It must be a bug I’ll report it to support.

Re: Ver 5.501 - Songs.MDB TimeStamp on Re-Importing BIN

I just imported 10 new songs (zip), all with todays date.
Then reimported (like I would if I saw an error in a graphic), date still correct.

Ok I just reinstalled the latest update (was off by a .01 on the release) and now see it re-importing a song with an older date (as i the date in had imported the track originally).

Re: Ver 5.501 - Songs.MDB TimeStamp on Re-Importing BIN

This is how it has worked since the date field was put in. We read the Created date from the actual file. You can right click any file in File Explorer, then left click Properties, then on this dialog see the created date. This is what we have always used for the imported date, not the actual date that the file is indexed into Hoster.

No one has mentioned, or complained about this in years. Let us know what you think.

Take a look at the example in my attachment. I found an old file for which the properties shows created date dates 7th March 2014 plus two other dates.
I imported it and it displays as 2017/12/05 todays date.

So it only reads that created date if you choose to re import it without deleting it first it seems.

Re: Ver 5.501 - Songs.MDB TimeStamp on Re-Importing BIN

I think if you are re-importing, you\'d want the last date it was re-imported, I know I would, this would tell me this file was fixed at some point.
