Re: cdg to mini disc is it possable

Never heard of it before. Do you have a MiniDisc CDG Player or a MiniDisc CDR drive? I'd be interested to know if you have found either.

Re: cdg to mini disc is it possable

If I remember correctly My plextors have a center in the tray for minidisks. So I will stice my neck out here to say yes. Of course it would only hold 1 or 2 tracks.

Re: cdg to mini disc is it possable

I believe gduns is correct.

Check your drive manual.

Some CDR/CDRW drives made today will support either 12cm or 8cm diameter discs. That's what the center circle on the tray is for, as gduns mentioned. I know my Sony 710 will, but the Plextor 712 manual specifies only 12cm. media.

Only limitation with 8cm discs is they must be used in a horizontally mounted drive, which I'd guess eliminates USB drives, as they are mostly vertical mounted.

That's my take on it.

George

Re: cdg to mini disc is it possable

That is correct, there is a distinct difference between a "MINIdisc" and a "pocketCDR."

Minidiscs hold (like a larger disc) 74 minutes of music or roughly 650mb of data

"PocketCDR's" are nothing more than "cut down" versions of cdr's; smaller in size and capacity (185mb) and they do not work in a minidisc player. (they do however make a really neat way to distribute your songbook though)

And to my knowledge; no, there never has been a cdg-minidisc player.
