Can I purch CD Rom after Download?

My friend has asked for my help with her computer and I fear one of two problems: Virus or Missing/Corrupt OS files.

I fear we need to rebuild her PC and she is very nervous about this. She has a three year old copy of Microstudio (she downloaded it originally) that she uses to download and burn music for her business. She didn't realize she can go online to get upgrades and/or help and support from MTU. She cannot go online using her new DSL connection because of PC problems.

OK, here is my question. Can she get a hard copy or a license key so if we have to wipe out her machine she can reinstall Microstudio? Also, will she need to burn her music so she doesn't lose it? I am not sure how that works.

Thank you for your help...she is very upset!
