Burning problems

I have a plextor PX-716A that I bought from MTU and Microstudio 4.001. The problem is I burn the files to disc and then they won't play. I sure would be grateful for any help I can get.

Are you running XP or Vista?
Do you have all the Microsoft updates? By this I mean updates from the "Custom" updates and not just from the "Express" updates which are only the critical, security updates.
Last do you have the latest Firmware updates from Plexor?
