microstudio demo

I downloaded the microstudio demo to see if I would be interested in purchasing it.

I have two questions,

Can it be used in conjunction with Hoster, sing a song on Hoster and store it in a folder or record it on microstudio? If so how? It seems Hoster and Microstudio are two separate stand alone Karoke software programs.

Secondly Can I plug into my mic input on laptop with some sort of cord from mixing board instead of purchasing a pc microphone?

Hoster and Microstudio are two separate stand-alone programs. Hoster is for doing Karaoke shows where you use a separate/second monitor/TV for the singers to see the lyrics display.
Microstudio's purpose is not to do shows, but for working with music files both Karaoke and standard audio CDs. You can use it to record your own voice with or without music, import songs to the hard drive, burn your own custom CDs, and many more features.
As far as plugging in from your Mixer to PC Mic input, besure the impedence matches what the laptop is looking for or it will not sound good and may even damage your laptop's sound card. I would definately do some research on the internet to find out how to set it up.

to answer your second question if i understood it correctly is that yes you can, except the audio will be so distorted, i tried plugging in my regular ( audix ) mic using an adaptor into my pc mic input and the result was so bad. the best way is to just plug in your mic /laptop audio into your mixing board you get a better sound quality..

Agree with billyo. Connect an aux out from your board to a line in on your card.
