Mstudio 4.06 and v 3.0

I have both programs. Need the 4.06 for current work but would like to reload my old version 3.0 to work with CDG files. Is it possible to run both of these version at the same time, on the same computer?

I recall that when I loaded 3.0 it removed my version 2.6 but thought I had read (long ago) that it would not happen with later versions. Thanks.

Afraid not. All of the MTU programs can only run one version of each on a computer.
Not sure why you would need both versions as 4.06 has everything 3.0 does and more.

Re: Mstudio 4.06 and v 3.0

Hi Dale, Thanks for responding. I was pretty sure they could not co-exist but thought I would check.

My 4.06 version will not load cdg files at all. Also when I looked at the setup instructions I noted it said that any old cdg's would be automatically converted so I figured that was the reason. I will figure out another way to do what I wanted.

Re: Mstudio 4.06 and v 3.0

MTU changed from using the CDG extension for the Microstudio imported files to using BIN extension. The files are identical and the only thing that changes is the extension on the filename. If they didn't automatically change to BIN, then you can do it manually with a file renamer program. Many free ones available.
The reason for the change was to eliminate the confusion between MP3+G files and the Microstudio imports.
