Editing Tracks' START time

Many CDG tracks (especially the older disks) have long intros before the music even starts. I have one disc that the track has a :40 sec splash screen intro along with a sompany sound byte (kind of like a "ta-daaaaa" sort of thing!

I want to be able to remove this so that the song can start right away. Is there a way to do it?

Yes with another program to aid you

Microstudio can import the music only as a .wav file. In the Import Tracks Tab, select the WAV instead of CDG button. Then, select the desired track(s) and import them.

Goldwave is a good low cost audio editor. Use this (or any other editor) and open the .wav file. trim the leading silence and ta-daaaa sound and save the shorter file as a new .wav file.

Open the shortened file in KHPro and add your lyrics back in. There is no current way to edit the audio and keep the lyrics in sync.

Re: Editing Tracks' START time

Misschiff......here is one way to do it, but you may not get the Song Title to show up.....depends how much you cut.

Just tested this on Pioneer PCDG-306-R (Pioneer Standards)
Track No. 3, "Almost Like Being In Love"

This track as an 11 second delay from the time you hit the play button until you hear music.

Here's how to eliminate the 11 second delay.

1. Using CDRwin, use Extract Sectors. Right mouse click on Track No. 3, you will see that it runs from Sector 029100 to 041024. Also you will see the Track runs for 2 Min. 39 Sec = 159 Seconds Total.
2. Subtract the Start No. from the End Number = 11,924 UNITS
3. Divide 11,924 by 159 = 74 UNITS per Second.
4. On my Pioneer Karaoke Unit, when I push play I have a counter that starts reading in Seconds....it shows 11 Seconds until you hear the music.
5. Now multiply 74 X 11 = 814 UNITS (Delay you want to eliminate)
6. Now add 814 to the Start Sector, 029100 = 029914.
7. 029914 IS NOW YOUR NEW START SECTOR.
8. 029100 TO 029913 WILL BE ELIMINATED.
9. Select DATATYPE = Audio with CD+G
10. Sector Selector START = 029914
11. Sector Selector END = 041024
12. Type in FileName an then Start.......
13. YOU HAVE GOT IT.

P.S. Later today will try using the New Free Program called "EditCDG"
http://www.editcdg.com/
to see it I can add a Title Back In, for say 1 Second.
