Unhappy Can't get my CDG files to import

I have tried everything and I can not get this software to import these cdg files I have. I bought this software to back up all my karaoke discs but it just won't work for me. I have attached the error I keep getting why I am trying to import? Is it my video card? If anyone has any suggestions or knows what I am doing wrong please help. It says my CD reader and writer will do CDG files?

Thanks,

Chris

Plextor PX-S2410TU (External). Sorry I forgot to include that. It says it will read and write CDG files. I got this drive just for that so if it doesn't work I will be so bummed.

Have you tried many disks, or just 1. Sound choice mediaclog disks, will not work, could this be the problem?

I'll have to leave this one for someone else to answer. I have only seen that error when I ejected a cd before it was through importing.

Do you know if the drive is set to dma, or pia mode you can find this out in the hardware manager under properties after you select the drive. it should be set to dma (direct memory access)

What does the error say? I couldn't open it after unzipping.

George,
It is the "unable to open audio sectors 0-25......." message we get when you eject a disk early

Thanks Gary, thought it looked familiar when you posted it...found this on another thread...

Most likely this drive won't work, if you get this erorr message, from what I have seen in the past, means that the drives can partially support the CD+G format, until we try to send the command to it to read the CD+G data. This is why it comes back with this error message stating Error: Unable to read AUDIO sectors 0 to 25 on device 0:0:0 Illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 24h 00h). When it states Illegal command Request, this means that the drive doesn't support the format that you are trying to tell it to read from the drive, in this case the CD+G format.
If your error message says "illegal command request" this may be it.

George

Editing time ran out??

Meant to add you may go to the Plextor website and download any available firmware upgrades for that drive.
