screen glare

Has anyone solved the problem of sun glare on the tv screen at an outdoor karaoke party. I can't see... I can't see. I would like some help here please.

A long time ago (late 80's) I used to have a polarizing screen for my monitor. It worked pretty well for any kind of reflected light. I would imagine this would still be an issue in offices and such. Office depot or Staples generally have a decent selection of computer acessories. Might be a place to start.

I would think a cardboard box or something else used as a shield to form a shadow on the screen should work to avoid direct daylight, in combination with orientating the screen in such a way to avoid any reflections from other sources.
You can also adjust the brightness/contrast on the TV.

I think most of the gimmics sold are for reflections not the daylight itself.

Good idea, especially if the cardboard shield were spray painted black on both sides...outside for appearance sake, and inside to reduce glare.

Another thing to try is to raise the monitor and point the screen downward. I do this with my computer monitor to remove the glare from overhead lights..
