Microstudio 2.506 Won't Recognize Drives

Just downloaded and installed the new Microstudio 2.506 software (as an upgrade). After successful installation, when I opened the program, it would not detect either of my two cdr drives (Plextor 52x and HP 9100 series), both which I have used to successfully make Kar backups.
When I tried to open the program a second time, it just hung and wouldn't open up at all.
How do I resolve this?

Thanks,
sm58z

SM58Z,
Try rebooting your computer and see if that doesn't take care of it. If you have Win98,SE or ME you need to reboot. Hope this helps.

This will happen for sure under 98 or ME if you haven't rebooted the system as Ernie stated.

2.506 just "Hangs" but never opens

Thanks for the replys (Reboot after installing 2.506) but-

Rebooting didn't fix it. And now when I click on the Microstudio icon to open the program - the "hourglass" appears like it's going to open but it never opens and after a while the hourglass just goes away.

Also tried completely uninstalling Microstudio from scratch, reinstalled V2.312 (it worked perfectly), but when I reinstalled the 2.506 update - and rebooted - got the same problem where it just hung and wouldn't open.

What should I try next?
