Unexpected ASPI error (04h 00h 00h)
I'm making backups of my karaoke CDG discs. After a few discs, I get
Error: 'WRITE' command failed on device 2:4:0 Unexpected ASPI error (04h 00h 00h) At that point the CDR drive totally locks up -- even the front panel eject button doesn't work. A system power-down is required to reset the CDR drive. This has happened twice so far. I have successfully burned 20 discs. I am using 700 MB unlabeled Mitsui Silver CDR blanks. I'm using V2.400 (downloaded last week) and the MTU-installed ASPI driver from that. Here's my system info: _____________________________________________________________________ Plextor Info Utility V1.19 Copyright (C) 1999-2003 Plextor SA/NV 07 August 2003 _____________________________________________________________________ Software Information _____________________________________________________________________ Operating system : Windows 2000 V5.00.2195 Service Pack 4 Windows ASPI (wnaspi32.dll) : Adaptec ASPI for Win32 (95/NT) DLL, V4.71 (0001) ( not used by PlexTools ) Roxio ASPI (cdral.dll) : Roxio CDRAL DLL, V6.0.0.171 ( not used by PlexTools ) Ahead ASPI (wnaspi32.dll) : n/a _____________________________________________________________________ Hardware Information _____________________________________________________________________ Host Adapter: 0 SCSI ID: - Maximum # Targets : - Description : Type : Port Driver : atapi.sys Provider : Description : IDE/ATAPI Port Driver (Microsoft Corporation) Location : D:\WINNT\system32\drivers\atapi.sys Version : 5.00.2195.6699 Date : ID 0: Maxtor 3 2049H2 VYAH8 - _____________________________________________________________________ Host Adapter: 1 SCSI ID: - Maximum # Targets : - Description : Type : Port Driver : atapi.sys Provider : Description : IDE/ATAPI Port Driver (Microsoft Corporation) Location : D:\WINNT\system32\drivers\atapi.sys Version : 5.00.2195.6699 Date : ID 0: WDC WD40 0BB-32AUA1 V18.2 - _____________________________________________________________________ Host Adapter: 2 SCSI ID: 7 Maximum # Targets : - Description : Adaptec AHA-294X/AIC-78XX PCI SCSI Controller Type : SCSI and RAID controllers Port Driver : aic78xx.sys Provider : Description : Adaptec CHIM Family SCSI miniport (Microsoft Corporation) Location : D:\WINNT\system32\drivers\aic78xx.sys Version : v2.20b Date : ID 0: SONY SDT-9000 V0600 - ID 4 (E PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W1210S V1.06 (S/N:223659) (44.42.28D) Read speed: 14-32 X CAV Jumper Settings: 00111000 Buffer under run proof enabled AudioCD,1 session(s),14 track(s),56:25.57 ID 5: Scanner V1.80 - USB Device Information: ----------------------- # Host Controller \\.\HCD0 found. srothkin,
Try upgrading your ASPI drivers as stated in this forum post: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?threadid=493
