Lyrics Sync Anomoly - Enable Recording Mode

I just purchased and installed Microstudio 424.08. I immediately noted that the lyrics were out of sync with the music (1-2 sec) when playing bin files. I eventually discovered that unchecking "Enable Recording" cured the problem.

The problem is repeatable. Re-checking the Enable Recording box takes the lyrics out of sync again. Any suggestions on how to correct this anomoly?

It does not appear to be a resource issue. CPU utilization is only 4-5%.
