This usually appears if your Windows Auto Insert Notification option is enabled. This must be turned off for Microstudio to correctly write a new disc. To find out if this is turned off do the following:

  • Go to the Start Menu/ Settings/ Control Panel

  • Double click on the System Icon

  • System Properties appears

  • Left click the Device Manager Tab

  • Double Click the CD-ROM

  • Double Click your CD-Recorder Model

  • Left Click the Settings Tab

  • If Auto Insert Notification is checked, click it so it is NOT Checked*

  • Check Disconnect if it is not already checked

  • Check Sync Data Transfer if it is not already checked

    * WARNING! If you install any Adaptec software (such as Direct CD or CD Creator), they automatically turn on the Auto Insert Notification. If you must run Adaptec programs, be sure the Auto Insert Notification is not checked (disabled) before running Microstudio.

When Auto Insert Notification is checked, Windows is enabled to read the CDROM drives at any time. If it finds a new CDROM disc has been installed, it will automatically run any program it finds. However, if Windows reads the CDR drive while Microstudio is writing a CDR disc, the write operation instantly terminates and the CDR media is useless. That is why it must be disabled.
