Unhappy Demo Software said my drive was YES..

Downloaded demo software last night & it said that my TEAC CD-RW was YES for both Karaoke & Audio. So i purchased full 2.4 version and downloaded but am now getting the "Unable to Read audio 1:0:0......"error. I couldn't find my drive in the compatible list on the web site...but why would demo software indicate "YES", and full version also says "YES"...but cannot copy cd+g's? The cd+g's are from 3 different shops, Charbuster, Priddis, Sweet Georgia Brown, none indicate copy protection...tried all 3?
Running XP Pro, P4 2.25Ghz, 1GB RAM, TEAC CD-W540E

There is no way to make this drive work. Here is the List of drives that show this and the reason why it won't work: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?...=4658#post4658

Lightbulb Then the DEMO software needs to indicate this...

Can you see the problem this presents when users download your DEMO software to test their hardware and it says YES, then they purchase only to be slammed?? While I'm not saying your software may not be wonderful, i'll have to now go and purchase a compatible drive because I do want to use your software. I'm perturbed that your DEMO software is bugged in the sense that it reports OK what your company know nows to be NOT OK. You should post the data you referred me in the previous reply as a big disclaimer for anyone downloading the demo so that they don't end up with the same frustion. It's not the end of the world, if the Demo would have said NO last night I would have acquired a compatible drive (which will be here tommorow) and purchased your software after I received the drive. But it would have saved me an hour digging thru your web site & forum trying to figure this all out.

Thanks & I hope the Plexor USB I ordered will do the trick ! ! !

The Demo version actually records and plays a CD+G on the computer for 75 seconds per song as I recall, if your CDRW is compatable. Isn't that how you check compatability?

Thumbs up

i was unconcerned about "Playing" the cd+g's on my computer, i looked strictly at the "YES" compatible indicators and went straight to start copying. I have 2 cd+g dedicated players...playing thru Micro Studio would have required trouble shooting video issues as well as drive issues. Expecting "YES" to mean YES, I asumed playback video wasn't working due to video issues and wasn't interested in wasting anytime troubleshooting that if I wasn't interested in that feature. As in all PC software, everything is a "clue"...but when the "clue" directly conflicts with specific software checks (as in "YES/NO" compatible check the demo runs) I tend to go with what the software tells me. I don't expect to waste my time troubleshooting when a vendors software performs false reporting. Wouldn't that mean if users got "NO" as compatible, that they should continue troubleshooting the hundreds of issues of PC"s hoping that the "NO" is false?
but thanks for the thought! !

We try to cover all drives, but...

mkirkpat, some drive manufacturers lie in their internal flash RAM stored data and say that the drive does read/write the CDG format. There is nothing we can do when this occurrs, except write additional code in Microstudio to specifically identify a model (such as yours) and report it as NO for Karaoke.

Can you post here the full "line" of data that Microstudio's Detect Drives button reports for your Teac drive? We can then try to get it programmed in our next update. We wish we didn't have to do this, andit really is not our fault. I hope you now realize this.
