Lightbulb Best Way Of Overlaying Lyrics On Live Singer & Audience Video Feeds

A lot of people who come to my shows want to see the lyrics of the CD+Gs or other Midi Karaoke tracks on top of a live video of the singer and/or audience. Is there any software for this? Do I need to use a video mixer (if so what is the cheapest effective mixer in the market)? Can I connect it to my laptop on which I run the karaoke software using perhaps a digicam and firewire interface? Anyone is successfully using what I am asking, please tell me how you do it.

At some point we should have this feature in our Hoster software.

Re: Best Way Of Overlaying Lyrics On Live Singer & Audience Video Feeds

Actually you can achieve this with HARDWARE,
what you want to do is called 'keying', or Chroma Keying
ie: replace a color with somthing else, in this case
live video or pictures. (which works out well since
most Karaoke songs have a very solid backgorund color).

...if you do an internet search (or ebay) for
chromakeying, one paticular unit is an
Videonics MX-1 switcher (which can be had for about 300-400
on ebay) the newer units costd about 999.

HEY I said it could be done I didnt say it was cheap!!! ;)
