CD-R Blanks Are Not Created Equal
Ever purchase a certain brand of CD-R's and they burned OK, then re-purchased the same brand and you had trouble burning?
Turns out that only a hand full of manufacturers in Asia make the CD-R's and companies like TDK, Imation, Maxwell just put their name on them (Private Labeling) A company may purchase from one manufacturer one time and next time from another. Get this small program called "CD Identifier v1.63" http://www.gum.de/it/download/english.htm Put a blank CD-R in your drive, run the program and you will get ALL KINDS OF INFORMATION ABOUT THE CD-R. ENJOY! |

This is why MTU sells CDR media for Karaoke
We are VERY aware of the variable supplier problem mentioned here, going back to 1992 when we sold our first CDR drive (Denon 1x writer for $16,000 and Yamaha was $25,000).
As a result, MTU has found the best media available for Karaoke CDG use and sell this to our Karaoke users. We have had no failures reported to us after close to a year of selling this media. We found that when we tested our CDG Certified CD-Recorder drives that if we used cheap CDR media that IT could make it look like the drive was bad. We now only use the best media and our drive certification process is the best we can do. |

That software is no longer supported, nor will there be any updates. In fact, the download link may have already been removed.
