Thumbs up Good News For Cdrw Users

Verbatim has just marketed a CDRW in their DataLife Plus series that is rated at 16X24 and supposed to retail @ $1.49 per disc, with a lifetime guarantee. Thought I'd pass it on.

Just got an update from Verbatim on the faster CDRW. It should be available by the end of this month starting with BUY.COM...Also checked with Plextor and found the writing speed of CDRW may not be the full rated speed of the burner. Found that My 16/10/40 will not write CDRW at 16, but at 10, which still is 2 1/2 times faster that the present 4X.

Latest dope on higher speed CDRW's.

Verbatim(parent company Mitsui) 16X CDRW is now available. BUY.COM has them for $10.99 per 10 pkg. in jewel cases and currently shipping free.

TDK is also marketing a 5 pkg. CDRW rated at 10X. Retailing at Target Stores for $5.99 pkg of 5 in jewel cases.

The Plextor 16/10/40 will write a CDRW at 10X as mentioned earlier.

The Plextor 40/12/40 will write CDRW at 12X.

Things are looking up on the CDRW scene.

George

Note: these higher speed CDRW's will not work in CDR drives not designated as High Speed Drives, such as Plextor 8/4/32.
