Re: MP4 tracks

Hi Brian.

I\'ve just started using MP4 tracks. I just use the \"Video\" button:

1. Click the VIDEO button.

2. Go to Folder / Chose file

3. Open.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Lani

Re: MP4 tracks

Kiwisingers instructions are good if just playing direct without importing, If you want them included in the search database use the following.

Select the Import songs Menu, from the next dialog select (Index Song Files) from the files type select KMH then the Video button, further instructions are shown in the left panel.

If you don’t see your MP4 files listed in the browser window make sure the Files of type box is showing All Videos or mp4, if not use the dropdown arrow to choose, press Select button.

Check the appropriate buttons for Hide & Subfolders. Make the define field order match the file name then press Add files to populate the lower Window. Check that the fields are showing in the correct columns, if a karaoke mp4 is being imported tick the video with lyrics box.
Finally Tick the select boxes and Press the Index Files Button.

If you buy them from via the Buy songs Menu/PartyTyme.net then they auto index, no further action needed.

Note You will only be able to play Video type files if you have the Appropriate Codecs installed.
This is from the Manuel:

You need to install Video Codecs on your computer to beable to play different types of Video files in Hoster.

Download the Video Codec Pack from: HERE
Make sure that you click on where it states: Download [K-Lite Mega Codec Pack X.xx] where X.xx is the version number.
Save this file to your computer and then double click on it to run it, Follow the onscreen instructions.
Once installed, you will be able to play video files in Hoster.

Smile Re: MP4 tracks

Hi Roy,

thank you so much for your advice. I\'ve now \"Imported\" my \"few\" MP4\'s. (only 3x lol at this time.)
As I mentioned, I\'ve only just started experimenting with them. So I appreciate your advice on \"doing it properly.\" hehe

I have a couple of questions.

1. Why can\'t we see the \"Lyrics\" in the \"Little Window?\"

2. Can that be changed in a future upgrade?

As always, thank you Roy.

Lance.

Re: MP4 tracks

I notice that after I have \"Imported\" the MP4 or MWV files, there always appears in the folder a \".kmh text file.

Q: Is there any way of \"Stopping\" that from happening?

Thanking you in advance.

Lance

That was brought in some time back, I believe it was to save on CPU usage as videos use more resources than standard karaoke files, also it did not always stay in sync with the main screen.

As new computers have become more powerful it might be something that could be brought back. Post a request for it in the Hoster New feature requests thread, you never now it might get considered especially now that MP4 karaoke tracks are becoming more popular.

That is the way the KMH types work, all the data relating to Hoster finding that file is in that text file, it must remain in the same folder as the imported track. It is the same if you import standard karaoke tracks via the KMH button.
An advantage of this method is the original tracks are not changed and can be played in any other software, unlike KMA that can only be played using MTU products.

I’m not advising it but they can be hidden from view in Windows explorer. Not sure if it would have any adverse affect with Hoster as I have not tried it
I will experiment with it now that I’ve mentioned it

Re: MP4 tracks

Well, have experimented with setting all .kmh files to be hidden and have not found any problems running Hoster.
That does not mean there are not any

As you only have 3 of these files at the moment you can easily set them to hidden in windows 10 using the View tab in explorer.

For anyone wanting to set them to hidden in multiple folders the easiest way is to use the command line interpreter or windows Power shell.
To do that in Windows 10 open explorer, brows to the folder at the top of the tree hold down shift key + right click on the folder, from the menu select “Open Power Shell Here” after a while it will show the folder you are in at the top of the dialog then type: attrib +h *.kmh /s then press enter key on keyboard. That will set all .kmh files to hidden unless you select the show hidden files in the view tab in explorer.
To undo the effect type the command again using -h instead of +

I attach pic of power shell commands to make it clearer.
