Well mine is set to full also. Went back through the manual and I must have read it on the forums as it is not there. There are some settings in the manual you might want to look at though. Performance setting should be on background programs and such as that. It will not hurt to try the hardware acceleration settings though.

As we continued to find possible errors, depending on situations, more code was added. Some was changed entirely. Most had to do with Vista problems. This added to the overall stress put on our systems. I truly believe that without Vista, we would not have had these issues. This, of course, is only my opinion.

I was running 3.xx on a system not even 1/2 as powerful as the Dell you have. It wouldn't run 4.x either. I did get it to run after upgrading the video card. Then shortly thereafter, it died. May it rest i peace.

Don't think that will work. Do you have another machine with wmp 11 loaded on it. If so, see if they have either of these two directories. If so you can copy to the machine which is without... If you can't find them let me know and I will put a copy someplace where you can download it.
Let me know.

Glen,
Go to http://forum.themuzikman.com Select "temp dirs for wmp11", download the zip file. The zip file contains both directories, copy them to your Windows dir.
Go to start, run and type

C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallwmp11$\spuninst\spuninst.exe

after the rollback is complete… a restart might be required… then afterwards run

C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallWMFDist11$\spuninst\spuninst.exe
again a restart may be required.

Once the roll back is complete delete the following;
C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallwmp11$
and
C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallWMFDist11$

This should roll you back to 9

Glen have you tried 3.4? If it is working good you might want to go to Tools/Options in 4.06 and try the Old Player selection. I believe that the old player is not affected by the version of wmp.

Hey Thanks,
3.4 works fine....are you saying you can run 3.4 and get the benefits of 4.06 under tools/options?

No what he is saying is in 4.06 go to Tools\Option and select the old player and see if that fixes it.

There is also an offset tool for running in Auto Mode. It is under the tools menu. You might want to check that as well. Just a thought.

Genlemen,

laddie, I downloaded the zip file but there was only one exe file there. It removed the wmfd file but not wmp11....I have tried all the other suggestions posted but to no avail.....I can't get 4.06 lyrics and music to play without lyrics being behind the music on this laptop...I still haven't heard back from Dell on an upgrade. The only thing left to try is to delete wmp11 if I could.....I wish i could at least go back to 4.03...it worked then....any other ideas?????????
