Hey Ron,
I assumed when I first joined this thread that you didn't have Microstudio that was why I suggested the change extensions ploy.
I tried it out it didn't work for me.
But what did work was to go into Media Player and rip off the CD to the hard drive, windows automatically exports to My Music.
I used a CDG which Windows doesn't recognize, but it does import the music only.
When you check it, it has been imported as a wma. only and Hoster will recognize these files.
I tried it and it worked.
Incidentally the black disc is used by some firms, haven't yet found that they play any differently.

I appreciate your response and had no idea that posting the entire message with your email addresses would be an issue. I must be really stupid I just spent an hour trying to figure out how to edit that post. I guess it's academic at this point as ddouglas has quoted me and now his post has the same information on it.

and back to the ranch, now I have to buy Microstudio to use your CD's which seems kind of odd since I thought I was purchasing CD's with CDG files on them I could use.

Drives, I do have about a year old USB Plextor CD/DVD/ DVD burner drive, it's downstairs and I don't have the model number, but I also have the drive in my HP Laptop. I have imported files with each of them without any problem as far as I know. Now, under Hoster my computer just cant see the Priddis CD in the drive.

I don't know if this will improve with Microstudio or not...I hope so.
Is there no way that you can just send me CD+G files like I thought I was purchasing?

Hey All,
Just a note on the Pro-burn issues that have been raised in this thread.
Here in the UK, depending on which firm you use to do these custom CDG's,
you sometimes have the option to have a graphics CD or one which has no graphics and is useable only as a backing track.
I certainly haven't found any of the firms that do it here use any kind of copy protection and have never had any trouble transferring them to Hoster or any other programme.

Ron, many Internet Forums don't allow users to edit posts at all after they are submitted.

In the past we had users that would post a "flame" message, starting a flame war, then once it was raging they would delete everything out of their posts so no one could see they started it!

Today, MTU.Community allows editing a post up to 30 minutes after it is SUBMITTED. Someone posting below does not change the 30 minutes "edit window".

I suggest you use the PREVIEW button, which shows you exactly what your post will look like without submitting it yet. You can edit-preview-edit-preview until you like it, then click SUBMIT REPLY. I do this on every post to insure it 1) looks like I want it to, and 2) it communicates what I "think" I am writing.

General rule of thumb, don't ever post your or anyone else's email or phone in a Forum.

Even when you QUOTE a prior post, you can edit out parts you don't want. I do that to respect others time.

Just wanted to report that the work around of importing all the tracks off the Priddis CD except the last track with Microstudio as CDG files worked just fine. Once I got the hang of naming the tracks with markers so the import utility could read them "Go Baby Go#The Go Babies.cdg" then everything worked fine.

Also would like to thank Priddis for the dynamite sound and professional level recordings that these tracks provide. I had been more or less just goofing around learning how to do all this with some cheapo CDG's and the Priddis tracks are remarkably better quality. It sounds like the neighborhood buddies went home and a Nashville studio band stepped in when you go from one of my old tracks to one of these Priddis Pro Sound tracks.

I'm still not wild about the idea that you have to run a utility to get the tracks out from under the protection scheme and get them into Hoster - perhaps that can be built into the newer Hoster programs in time, but I appreciate the information on how to do it, and want to say that it works really slick.

So I guess that after 30 minutes what you said is sorta like being under oath with a court reporter. It a permanent record.

I copied a very usefull email into my message, but didn't have enough smarts to leave out his email address - my fault entirely. I didn't even try to edit it out until the next day when I was asked to. The 30 minute rule got me, but it would have got me anyway.

You have no idea how hard it is to "after the fact" try to decode what various producers are doing for protection, or to provide new features on a CDG format disc.

Microstudio 2.613 is still using our older technology that imports from the drives in a different way than Hoster 3.310+ uses. Know that we are constantly engineering better ways to improve the quality of our imported tracks.

I fixed #19. I regret to say that I DID look for email and phone and missed them! Just goes to show that ALL of us have to work at this, so don't fee alone.
