The reason you got the same results is because the KMA headers had already been changed the first time.
That is why you need to delete all of the KMA files and the dB files and re-copy the KMA files from the original computer.

When the database automatically built did you get any messages about duplicates? If not then delete the log, there are no duplicates.
If you did then you will need to look at the log and see what it is showing as a duplicate.

That is what the Add is for to renumber the duplicates, but before you do anything with them lets figure out what is causing them to show as duplicates.
Do you have exactly the same number of files as the original folder on the other computer?
Do you have any KMA files anywhere else on this computer?
When you go into the rebuild database screen does it have more than one location listed?
Have you run the rebuild database on the original computer lately? Does it show any duplicates?

always had

I have always had duplicates show up. Does this mean I have the same book ID being used or it found the exact same song and brand being used.

Hey Billy,
I can see where the Add/Merge feature would be very handy if somebody purchased a song collection from another host and wanted to combine it with their exsisting collection without deleting the doubles first.

I find the doubles BEFORE importing into Hoster. I do not add the doubles to the databse and always Rebuild, never Add/Merge. This prevents issues Like Dr. Karaoke (gotrich) is having. It takes a little time but prevents this headache.

It's All Good!

Jim

It would be based on Book ID since there is no way for Hoster to know that the song on one Sound Choice disc that is on track one is the same song that is on another Sound Choice disc that is on track five.

Everybody has you on the right track (no pun intended ).

Jim

It means you have two disks with the same bookid. So you need to run the Add database build on the original and fix the duplicates. Then copy the KMAs (again to the second computer and run the rebuild. That should eliminate the duplicates on the second and both be exactly the same.
You are going to have to re-do your books too so they match what you have in the database.

Uh... please read the manual.

It tells exactly when and why duplicates exist, and how to add any duplicates to your Songs Database with the ADD button... and how ADD works.
