Hey Buttons,
Do you have the latest custom updates for your version of Windows?

Just because it is a new laptop does not mean that it has all the Updates Microsoft has put out. Jim is not talking about the Auto updates you get, but going to Microsoft's Update page and getting the Custom Updates - all of them.

Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools/ Windows Updates. When the page opens click on Custom not Express.

I advise that you don't take any hardware updates unless you are having a problem with your hardware. From your first post it sounds like your harware is working just fine.

Unistall Microstudio then reinstall it. This may get you going.

If not, look into updating the driver for your video card from the manufacturer.

Unhappy

Seen this in the installation instructions: The only other thing that will cause this is if you have 64 bit Windows XP or Vista,
If you see the @ symbol instead of the drive letter (D:, E:...), Windows must be updated.
and you are seeing the @ sign still after getting all the Windows Updates. There is no fix for this yet,
as we do not support 64 bit Windows
Mine is showing that
so I guess I will wait for the fix

Thanks for all the help Buttons

when you imported the disc did you notice the progress bar? did you see if its actually moving or did it just blink, if just a blink, in my experienced it meant that your cd/dvd drive is not supported anymore..i had that happened to me when i upgraded to 4.x
