CDG Storage
Curious as what everyone uses to store their original discs in? I have around 1100. As I bought them I also spent the extra money for slim line cases. Presently keep them in an old pie safe. But always looking for something better.

storage
they sell zip up storage cases for cd's and dvd's at wallmart i also have a large amount of cdg's. i always carry them with me in case of a total computer failure.(back up) they have soft cases that carry about 200 cd or dvd's for a reasonable amount of money. it is worth it.i have benn carrying them around for years with no problem.the pull down models come in 30 and fifty cd capabilities and can add up fast if you have a ton of disks, the downside of them along with the cost is the front will come open if you dont have a way to keep it secured. hope i have been a help to you ...........................dennis

I only have 960 cdg discs, but have 2 cd coffins (they come with rollers for ease of transport) that holds 400 cd's in standard jewel cases. Use the slimline jewel cases & it doubles that - 800 discs per road case! MUCH better protection of the original disc than the zip up pocket holders. These tend to scratch the discs over time with sliding in & out.

Otherwise a coffin is sturdy and secure too.

carring cases
coffin is cool but bulky the sleves inside the zip up cases are like a plastic film (clear) but i haul them around inside the bottom of my dj rack anyway.either way you cant go wrong as long as the individual dj/kj is happy ! there are many different ways to do it the best way is what makes it the best experience for you.

Thanks for the reply's, but I guess I should have mad myself more clear. I'm specifically referring to those who run hoster but keep their original discs at home. Curious if there is anything different that you store them in or how your store them.
I quit taking my originals with me long ago. I have my main laptop and an external hard drive; and then I have my backup laptop and another external hard drive. ( had a friend who used to work with NASA. ) I quit worrying about the "karaoke police" along time ago. If they call me to court I'll bring in all my discs in, in little red wagons into the court room with all the documentation where they were purchased. I envision a scene something similar to "Christmas on 47th Street." Kelly |

I store mine in plastic milk carton baskets. (My redneck upbringing is tapping on my shoulder. ) You can find them out back at any business that carries miilk. Be sure to get permission before you take one, or two or seven!
Most of my disc are in full cases which allows me to stack the baskets. Jim

If you want to keep your disks at home. CD Books are always a good option. Since you don't use the disks and are not "Afearin" the karaoke Kops, buy the books that hold 320 or 364 disks....

Case logic was the company I was trying to remember....They make a very nice nylon case that will hold 320 disks. You might want to give that a shot...

Keep mine in Wal Mart 256 CD soft cases. Keep one for each brand, CB, SC, DK, MM, MH etc. All lined up on a shelf in a converted closet.
Never take them out after they have been down loaded. My backup is a 250GB HP Laptop.
