i must reiterate that this is happening with the files that have already been imported on another computer. All i did was copy my kma files from my old system to my new laptop because i did not think it would mmakke a difference.

Have you tried to delete the files from the new laptop and copy them again? What method did you use to move the files to the laptop?

I would second the idea of getting all custom updates from Microsoft. Once that is done (or if it has already been done) run dxdiag.exe from the start menu and try reducing the harware accelleration for your sound card. See if that makes any difference.
