Ok, I got this error on a computer I am using until I can finance a new one. I tried loading Hoster, got the above error (0x80040703 failed to find DLL function _ismtu.set productId ). Went through the forum with the link above to the support knowledge base to install Net 2. Started installing Net & it got almost to the end & gave me an Error 25007. Setup Could Not Load With LoadLibraryShim(). Error: 0x80131702. I have found others through searches that have had this error while installing Net, but can't seem to find any solutions? Any clue. I am not able to load Net 2. Yes I have all updates (custom) - except Net 2 from Microsoft, these 2 would not load from the update site either.

Have you checked the Microsoft help for this error? There may be something else you are missing that NetFrame needs before it can load.
My suggestion would be to do a complete Custom update, skipping the NetFrame until last. This may solve your problem.

Yeah i've done all the custom updates. Went to Microsoft help site, found the errors & their fixes - which didn't work. Went to their forum, found people with the same problem with some suggestions, but those didn't work. It's not even Net 2, I can't do Net 1 or 3 or any other version. I figured maybe do 1 then update it, nope.
Oh well, guess i'll be out Hoster at home until I can get my new computer - which may take a while. I'll keep trying, if any other thoughts - bring 'em on.

Lonnie, This looked applicable, since it was written by a techie type person I don't know how you would use the info other than changing something in the registry but maybe Dale or someone else will know.

See that was part of the problem in most of the solutions I found, that they were written for someone who knows what they are doing inside the registries or what not - I don't. They say what to do or needs to be done, but don't explain how & where to go or how to get there to begin the changes.

Lonnie what is the Path to your Windows Directory? Is it C:\Windows or C:\Winnt?
I can create a Registry hack that you can apply that will set the path correctly. Need some time tomorrow to do this though as I have to research a bit. It will be a small file that you can download and run.

Lonman,
I finally got the registry hack to work. Sorry it took so long, but I have been dealing with a lot of roofers, A/C repairmen, and a couple of truckers trying to deliver a storage container which they could not put where I want it.
The file is attached and all you have to do is download it, then change the extension from ".txt" to ".reg" and double click on it. Answer Yes to first question and it will make the change. This will reset the Install point for .NetFrame so that the program will install.

Everything installed fine, thanks for the help. Now I just got to do cd rom drive swaps - get my Plextor into this machine, the generic cd rom in this tower don't read cdg - really garbled audio & pretty color display on screen with no hint of words & the external HP dvd does ok, but lots of graphic glitches on scratched discs that I got perfect results from the PLextor.

No Vocals,
Right click on the attached file in my last post and save the file on your desktop. Right click on the file on your desktop and go to Rename. Change the last 3 characters from TXT to REG. Then hit Enter. Double click on the file, click YES on the warning screen that comes up. After it has loaded, click on OK on the next screen.
Now you can install .NetFrame 2 from Microsoft.

thanks ddouglass. i finally got it loaded back to the laptop. Now I have a new question. Have the guys in the support ticket dept. gone on vacation? i sent a support ticket in on thursday and I still haven't heard back. all i need is to have my registartion reset or whatever so i can re-register and compete the setup. i had originally used my two registrations on my desk computer and my laptop. i wold have been fine to use my desk system as a backup, except there is no video out for me to send the lyrics to the video monitor.
if you have a suggestion about thow i can accomplich that it would be wonderful, or if you have an inside contact for the support guys, that would be even better. i gotta be honest, i never really realized how much work hoster saves me on a weekly basis! guess i just kinda got spoiled.

Billyo, your link doesn't work. If you correct it to www.itech.com it sends you to a Hockey site.
