Arrow Does songverter convert .cdg file only to .TXT

I can use songverter to convert my two files 1).cdg (Lyrics) and 2) .wav into a .bin or mp3 or any of several Karaoke music +lyrics file.

Anyone know if I can just convert my .cdg (Lyrics) file into a .txt file so I could save time in re-writing and entering typing all teh words to a song.

I would think songverter should be able to convert the cdg file to .Txt as it is the reverse of what it does now.
It can now take the .cdg file now and make it by merging with a .wav to a .bin.

Or does anyone know of similar program that could do this.?

Thanks

I don't think that is possible as the .cdg (lyrics) file is a graphichs file and the "text" you see on the screen is not really text but a graphic of the letter.
Your best bet in my book would be to find an internet site that has the lyrics (there are plenty) and paste those into a notepad text file. Saves having to type and you would come closer to having the correct wording.

Arrow Ok BUT?

DOUG:
Your suggestion is appreciated.
Here's my confusion. If Songverter can convert cdg and wav to BIN or bin to cdg again, and KHP can import a txt file and export that txt file as a BIN file which is CDG and Wav merged, then why wouldn't the KHP be able to import a bin file minus the Wav music portion of the file.which should have only all the CDG lyrics graphics in it.?
I would think any program (Like KHP) that could export a result as a CDG format should be able to import a cdg format.? Maybe I'm missing some high level logic here>
Thanks
Pete

It is easier to convert text within the program to a graphic screen than it is to convert the graphic screen back to text. The graphic screen is stored (in the cdg or imbedded in the bin) in a linear series of horizontal dots, not in individual letters. That is why the reverse conversion isn't that easy. You would essentially have to have an optical character reader program within KHPro to do it. Meaning very large program file.

An additional tip. If you have a good word processor like Word Perfect, you can import the lyrics into it from your source, and convert all or part of the text to CAPS, ITALICS, etc for special projects such as differentiating between singers in duets, and save as .txt files for processing with KHP. I use all caps anyway for easy viewing by the singers in our private Karaoke club.

The TEXT is RENDERED as a GRAPHIC.

The GRAPHIC (cdg part) can be EDITED with ANY TEXT EDITER. Therefore, it can be read and TEXT generated.

There is a Karaoke program that will read a cdg file and OUTPUT to TEXT, just not MTU's, yet. I've used it and done it.

Congrats on following the forum rule and not mentioning any competitive product's name.

If Pete wants to know, it best be handled by p.m.

I'd sure like to know whose done this. Please email me at sales at mtu dot com.

To convert ANY .cdg file (RW lyrics/graphics only file) in any font, italics, etc. would truly be a fantastic product that MTU would offer if it is available. MTU has researched doing this function and deem it to be a $100,000 - $250,000 job, and maybe turn out to not be doable at all when we have spent the time to research it.

Please email me.

Well, I've tried to find find which program it was that did this, but, I can't.

Some programs I've discarded. So, it may be that I actually exported the Lyrics after I imported the Lyrics.

But, I don't know why I would have done that.

I could have sworn that I made a mental note that, when I performed a TXT export, I remember thinking that this was a great time-saver.

Sorry, if I gave false hope for this feature.

Darn!

We'd sell that in a skinny minute.

Let us know if you ever run across anything that does this. It'd be a heck of a development to do it. Only one person (super programmer) in the world will do it, and they should make some good money on it... IMHO.

Actually, that's one of the Last signs.

1)muscular movement, speed, etc.

2)slow degradation of coordination (tHat's why athletes usually retire Around 40-45, while their memory is still excellent.

3) Skin tautness. (lower production of certain proteins)

4) Several others; then maybe memory loss at some later point.
