Hoster .kma files to M-Studio song folder

I am running Hoster 3316 & M-Studio 4002. Is it possible to load .kma files from hoster to M-studio song folder without burning to disc first? Using the Write Disc tab in M-studio I often burn CDRW discs from .kma files then use the import tracks tab to put the songs into M-studio karaoke files.
I try to handle My cdg discs as little as possible and I will burn a composite disc to use when I go out singing in public.

Find the place where the files are located. Copy/Paste or Cut/Paste them to your desired folder. If my response is too simplistic, it's because I don't understand the complexity that you are inferring.



ps Microstudio 4.002 will also work with the files right where they are, you just need to use the browse button and find the folder. Not sure what your upgrade needs are, but if you already are working with KMA-In Microstudio, then you are probably where you need to be. (I forget the particulars of earlier versions.)

Jahern's PS is right. All you need to do is change the default folder for Microstudio to your KMA folder. Select the songs you want to burn for your custom CD by either putting them in the playlist and adding them from there to the write disc list (button) or open the write disc screen and add them from there.

If KMA is still a rather exclusive MTU format for use with Hoster, what good are the discs he makes with KMA files going to do at a show not running Hoster?

What other Karaoke players will read them?

My understanding of the burnt discs is in two parts.

1. santojmezzaroba felt that in order to use Microstudio to Play the files that are played by Hoster, one needs to burn the kma's to disc and then import them to the Microstudio songs folder from the disc. (sounds a little unnecessary-why would someone want to play the songs in Microstudio on a computer, if they can use Hoster on the same computer?? And without Songverter, the files are huge anyway! Sounds like maybe we're talking more than one computer )

2. A declaration of using the burnt discs not only to directly import into Microstudio but to go to other places.

If I wanted to know if I could make a data disc containing hundreds of my kma files, go to my friend's house, who has microstudio, and have some fun, then I might be asking similar questions. Of course I would not be able to play the files from the disc because it is required to have them in a real hard-drive folder for playing. And if we downloaded them on my friend's computer, we would be in the area of unlawful duplication.

Any custom disc burned in Microstudio, from kma or other formats, would still be playable in other players. What are you talking about??

Microstudio burns discs in only two formats. Audio files regardless of the format are converted and burned as CDA tracks (WAV in reality I believe). Karaoke files regardless of the format they are in are converted and burned as CDG tracks (BIN is the same thing).
If you want to burn the files in the current format either audio or karaoke, then you will need to use Roxio or Nero or any other burner software to create a "data" disk.

As instructed in the first post-reply by jahern, I used the browser button and located the kma files in hoster. When I clicked OK 14,000 kma files loaded to the left side of the screen. I then dragged some to the play list side of the screen highlighted each one and clicked the "add to write list" tab. I clicked the "write disc" tab and the songs were there. I burnt to a cdrw disc and it played just fine in my Sony Mega Storage player.
This will save me a lot of time as the kma files appear as title & artist rather than just a disc number such as DKM2001-01. This satisfies my need.
Will Songverter convert any format to any format, kma to bin, etc?

One note though. It is not recommended you use CDRWs because most Karaoke players will not recognize that type of disc. So if you wanted to take those CDs to a show they probably won't work.

If you go back to your post within 30 min. then you can edit it. You do have to leave at least one character (space?) or it won't take it. There is no delete for us.
