CDrom formats MMC and ?

The other day I was browsing and found a post that eplained the changing technology on burning cdroms and whether software or hardware MMC controlled.

Now I would like to review that data and can't find it for the life of me.
If anyone is familiar with what I am trying to say could you point me in the right direction.

Search for MMC controlled. MMC by itself came up with nothing.

I did the search and two pages of threads popped up.

I didn't read through them, so I can't say the post you are looking for will be there. Hopefully it will.
