Converting back to mp3+g

I just imported files from a karaoke cd using Microstudio (latestest version) onto my hard drive and have notice they are in a different format that I 'm used to.

All my current files are in mp3+g set and I would these newly imported tracks to be the same.

How can I convert these tracks into mp3+G?

Many thanks in advance

Microstudio is not currently set up to do that. You will need another program from someone other than MTU for that.

I have been using a free program called "MP3+G Toolz" in conjunction with Microstudio for several years now.

Once installed, you just RIGHT CLICK on the folder where your .BIN files are, and then click on "MP3+G Toolz .NET 4" to bring up the conversion screen. You can convert BIN to MP3+G and BIN to ZIP, or MP3+G to BIN and MP3+G to ZIP, or ZIP to MP3+G and ZIP to BIN.

The great thing is that you can rip from CDG disk to BIN files in Microstudio, and then batch convert your BIN files to ZIP files with MP3+G Toolz, and then play your ZIP files in Microstudio without ever having to unzip them!!!

It's also great for renaming your MP3+G file pairs also. When you choose the "ZIP to MP3+G" option, it will unzip both files and rename both of them identically with whatever you have named you ZIP file. So if your ZIP file is named (for example) "Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight" and the two files inside are just named "SC-9025-16" (or whatever)...when you unzip them with this program, your .CDG file and .MP3 file will automatically be named "Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight" simultaneously!

You can only legally use one format at a time, and if you are not using the kma format, you are using another format for another program, and you are not using hoster or microstudio, and other programs are not discussed here, I believe.

PDunn there is no conversion program for kma to mp3+g. Microstudio can use kma files to reburn to CD as CDG, but that is the only conversion for kma that I know of. You will have to go from the original CDG to MP3+G but I am not sure what program would do that.

I think you'll find a KMA to MP3+G conversion tool at www.tricerasoft.com - I think it was them that invented the KMA format originally.

Don't get me wrong though...for everything else, you can't beat the MTU software. I've looked at other programs (from people like TriceraSoft) and none of them are as easy to work with as MTU. Generally speaking, the only time I use anything else is when I need to do something that MTU can't.

Tricerasoft uses KSF not KMA files their convert is for their own KSF files. KMA files are an MTU exclusive format.

kma to wma not mp3+g

Its been out for two years
works great
after you take it back to wma then you make your mp3+g out of that

I saw there was a kma back to bin that will convert kma back to bin
and keep all song info then you run mp3 tools on it and bam you have mp3+G
you can run your hole folder at once back to bin if you have the hard drive space just thought i would confirm what bradbell was talking about
it was back to wma not mp3+g

Are you referring to their Elite Conversion Tools?
If so that is KMF not KMA.

Since you haven't said what the program is or where to find it how can I verify that it works??? That is why I have a hard time believing it.
Since you say "...just thought i would confirm what bradbell was talking about..." then I took that to mean you went to the web site he listed and checked. If you had been more clear and given a reference then I would not have said what I did.

Microstudio 4.001 includes a Tools menu Convert Files command. On the left side you select the file type to convert, which can be: KMA, BIN, CDG (MTU format), MP3+G, ZIP, WMA+G, WMA, MP3 and WAV.

On the right you select the folder to convert into, and the file type to convert them to, which can be: KMA, BIN, WMA+G, WMA, MP3, and WAV.

Due to the high annual licensing fee, we won't convert to MP3. The mp3licensing.com site now clearly states that using MP3 encoders/decoders like the Lame.dll and other that are not licensed, is illegal, even for home use. This is a change in their policy, but clearly they are closing up all the holes that have existed for years.

It converts only selected files, or all in the folder if none are selected.

Beta Testers should see it for testing this week.
