2.315 demo will play CD+G, won't extract tracks
Windows XP, Yamaha 2100 CD burner.
I can play the tracks, and the graphics are perfect, but when I export them and play them back from the hard drive, the graphics are all messed up. Tried changing the read speeds, tested with everything between 1X and 16X, no results. Turned off caching, no luck. Changed the ASPI driver from the MTU driver to the default, same thing. I see a few people have posted this problem, and none of their solutions seem to help. Given that we're all in the same situation, where it's fine on play, but broken when we try to do an export, perhaps MTU might want to consider a "record live" function-- clearly my drive is capable of getting the data, but however the export is done causes it to fail. Any help getting this fixed in the meantime would be appreciated. |

Unfortnately, I don't think the Yamaha burner you're using is supported. Read the list of supported drives to be sure.
Good luck!

This is a problem with the Yamaha drives. We used these drives up until the Yamaha 8432 when their CD+G format did not work correctly. We tried to work with them to fix their problem, but they were not interested. We then had to find other drives that the CD+G format did work on, it seems the only one that we now test and certify is Plextor drives. You can find our CDG certified drives at MTU CDG CD Burners.
There is no way to make the Yamaha work correctly with CD+G in our software.

You say it doesn't work correctly, but it in fact does work correctly for playback, just not exporting.
I would think that you might at least want to consider the idea of a "export via playback" method, seems like it would allow quite a few people to back up their CD+G's without having to pay for a whole new burner... |

Your statment is clear...
It works for playback, not for duplication or writing a CDG disc. There really is nothing we can do with a "half useful" drive. We can't make hardware do what it cannot do.

Yamaha 2100E Will burn CDG
I've burned numerous CDG's with my 2100E --- It won't 'Rip' them correctly for Duplication purposes. -- Yamaha told me that they hoped to 'someday' update the firmware which would allow this.
I use a Plextor 12x burner to Read and write to the 2100. I run both @ 8X to keep 'coasters' to a minimum. |
