load disc error

I have been using Microstudio successfully since july 2001. I am now getting bogged down with error load disc command failed on device 0.1.0---unrecoverable hardware error 04h,00h,02h,04h,09h,01h-- I am using v2.310 and the plex 16/10/40 all bought from mtu--

this problem is happening not only w/ sound choice but pocket songs,chartbusters and party tyme too. HELP

It might be time for that dreaded format and re-install for your whole PC.

Brian,
Thanks for your answer but it is an intermittent problem I have backed up some disks and then the next one i try gives me the load error message. I admit I am very limited in my computer knowledge. My understanding of your answer is to clear everything and start over and I don't really know how to do that. Hopefully there is an easier answer.

CLICK START, PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOL, AND DO A DISK SCAN. WHEN FINISHED, DO A DISK DEFRAG. SEE IF THAT HELPS.
