Error: Serial Number doesn't match Registration Information

No luck. I have run the updates, I have a network card. I did noticed in the registry that I still show that2.605 AND 2.315 are both in there. Your program only lets me delete the 2.605 and not the 2.315. It looks like the only way to get out the 2.315 is to do it through the windows program.Or maybe I should delete out the 2.605 with Windows and try to run your install program again to get out the 2.315?

I just tried deleting out one of the Micro Studio's from the ADD/Uninstall section of Windows but it only uninstalls it through your program. Your program does not seem to identify the 2.315 to uninstall it. So I'm basically dead in the water here. If I go into my Program Files, I can open and use the 2.315. Now what????

What version of Windows are you running? Are you using Windows 98 SE or ME?

When you ran the Windows Updates did you go to the Right hand side under Windows 98 or ME and add each of these Updates? If you go back to the Windows Update site and there are any updates, then you have not updated correctly. You MUST Install every update for it to work.

Please let me know that you have done this, and there are no updates left.

Bryan, I have Windows 98SE, I have a Network card (Ethernet), I have downloaded every update INCLUDING all of the darn foriegn language updates which has now caused my Outlook not to work. I have reinstalled the Micro Studio 2.605 and I still have the same error message!! BTW, the 2.315 version is still in the registry. It is midnight here and I have a headache and have the need to get drunk to help me forget the pain. I hope to wake to a new day and the the prospect of using my Micro Studio once again.

I sent in the dxdiag for you. BTW, why not just let me download the2.609 if the problem has been corrected in the new version?

I am unable to determine what the problem is on your computer that is causing this.

You can download the 2.609 version, by clicking on your Personal Download Link in your original email.

This actually was fixed in 2.605, not 2.609. So if you have done a Remove, and Reinstall 2.605 after doing all of the Windows Updates, it should have been resolved.

Okay, in an earlier post I mentioned that The 2.315 version will not come out of my registry, in fact I can still open up the registery and click on that file and get micro studio to work. When I hit uninstall it only takes off the 2.605 and not the 2.315. Could this be the problem and if so, how to I get the 2.315 off the 'puter?

Tonight I downloaded the newest version of Micro Studio 2.609. BTW, this was the first time that it let me download anything other than the 2.605. Guess what, everything went perfect and I am up and running. I can now go on the wagon and stop drinking myself into a stupor because I lost my ability to burn and assemble karaoke discs! (I do hope you know I'm j/k about the drinking...you guys are too serious)

The "serial number mismatch" error when installing in Windows 98SE or ME is fixed in Microstudio 2.609.

If you have Microstudio 2.5xx or higher, find your download link email, click the link to get your free download if 2.609. When you install it the error should no longer appear.

If you have Microstudio 2.4xx or lower, you need to purchase the upgrade for $15 to get 2.609.
