Unhappy Can't registed Microstudio

I purchased Microstudio several months ago, and am now getting time to use it. The computer I have internet access with does not have a compatible burner. However my old 800 in the basement does have a compatible burner. This computer is not hooked to the net. I have followed the steps with the floppy, but I get an error saying " unable to connect to the internet" I checked the forum, and double checked my registered email, any every thing seems to be correct. I have an always on DSL connection on this computer, so I know there is not a connection problem. Please let me know how to fix this problem.

I know this is a dumb question, but why not swap the burners in the computers. chances are your computer on the internet is the faster one anyhow.

I think they may be having a problem with the register by floppy thing right now, that they may be trying to resolve. but I'm not sure.

First, click your download link again and get the Microstudio 2.517 version. It was released after you ordered on 01/01/2004.

Then, if you are installing and registering on-line and see an error message text that you are "not on-line" (but you really are), read the top TITLE bar of that error message. If it says something like "wrong email address", then you are on-line, but the email you are entering is not what you must enter.

If you are registering by Floppy Disc on a different computer than the one you are installing on, be sure you enter your Registration Code and Registration Email exactly as they appear in the MTU.com product download instruction email you received. If not, the registration will fail, and via the Floppy Disc we don't have as good error reporting as direct on-line registering.

Let us know if you still have a problem.

Hummm...

The Floppy Disc program does work so something has caused a problem with it running. Try these suggestions:

1. Make sure you are using a good Floppy Disc media. If it is damaged it might cause this problem.

2. Re-run the Installation program on the computer you want to run Microstudio on eventually. When it asks you to go on-line or make a Floppy Disc, select the Floppy option and make a new disc. Try registering it again on your other "on-line" computer and let us know what happens.

I think I might have found the problem. My second computer is running Windows 98. I found something in another thread about you must have 98 SE or newer. If that is the problem I will have to switch burners. The only problem is one is black and the other is white.

I would suggest changing the OS out to windows 2000, or xp in the future. Windows 98, 98se, and ME had very poor memory management, and most mtu products seem to be evolving the either windows 2000, or xp.

You need to also check your memory, and make sure you have enough. windows 98 will operate on only 16 megs, and that is not enough to operate microstudio.

You must have Windows 98 Second Edition. If you only have 98 First Edition, then you can try to contact Microsoft to see if you can still get the 2nd edition upgrade. If you can't you would need to upgrade this computers Operating system to a newer version of Windows such as 2000 or XP.
