When in doubt...

KaraokeDan, the download instruction email you received contains instructions where to get the kproid.exe file to run on your computer. It will show you all the Network Ports you have and their MACID codes, and allow you to select the one to lock KPro to. Follow the instructions in the download email for running kproid.exe to receive your Installation Code.

If you don't have any network ports, you have two options:

1. Buy a network adaptor card and plug it into your computer, or a USB Ethernet (network) module and plug it in your USB port.

2. Wait until we release KPro 5, which we hope to do within the next 3 weeks, which does not require a network port. However, this option will come with an upgrade price as KPro 5 will be priced at $149.95 retail with its new features. We will offer different groups of existing KPro customers coupons to upgrade for less than the difference between what you paid and the new KPro 5 price. If you don't want to upgrade, then you need a network adaptor. Please note this is clearly mentioned on our web site as a computer requirement to run KPro 4.008, quoted below:

You MUST have a Network (Ethernet) card or port in your computer. KPro security is tied to the MACID of a Network card to generate your Serial Number. The kproid.exe program will detect all the Network ports/cards and show them all to you. You will select one and send it to our web site form, which automatically verifies you own the product before it will allow you to request a Serial Number. We then manually verify your database record for ownership again, and if approved we manually generate your Serial Number and send it to you. This will allow you to install and run KPro only on the computer with that MACID/Network card. If you don't have a Network card, buy a USB card from MTU for US$32.00. This allows you to move KPro to a different computer that has the USB Card plugged into it.

Hope this helps.

Karaoke Dan,

How do you access the Internet? Is it through a dial-up (telephone) or do you either cable or DSL?

If you use a modem to dial up into the Internet and you computer is not a recent model, them you may not have an Ethernet controller.

If you use either calbe or DSL, then you have an Ethernet card, simply check where the cable goes into the computer and that's your card.

If you don't have cable or DSL and you have a recent computer model, then you probably have an Ethernet card. Look around your computer for a connector that looks like a telephone jack, only much bigger.

I hope this helps

Jon
