Talking

I want to be able to rip and burn backups of my CD+G discs.
I found from several sites that the Sony CRX140E Supressa is capable to do this. I purchased the 8X4X32 and installed it in a compaq with a cd drive already in the system. I removed the Goldstar burner that came with the PC and installed the SONY (Both drives are cable select) No audio cables come from either drive. I find this funny.

Anyway, I went to device manager to check the correct installation and It reads SONY CRX0811 firmware MYS2

Sony has been NO help at all. They tell me that this drive is the same as the CRX140E/CH2 with Burn Proof technology.

Well Microstudio does not acknowledge this drive as compatible with the DEMO version 2.013

What do I do?

HELP

Thanks

GET YOUR MONEY BACK WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!

Take the Sony CDR back and get your money refunded. I have just updated our Website CDR page with a stronger DO NOT BUY message. Sony used the 140 number for an entirely new drive. This has never been done before, and they should not have done it. It will cause grief for every user and us, and SONY for as long as that drive is in use in the marketplace.

GET RID OF IT NOW! Save yourself a lot of grief. It is clear from the Device Manager data you quote above (and others have told us) that this drive is non-standard, and definitely not a 140 model. If you keep the drive, you got what you paid for.

GET RID OF IT NOW!
