WRITE command failed, Insufficient resourses to initialize ASPI Manager
OK, I'm using MicroStudio 2.4, I have a PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W4824A 1.03 and Mitsui Discs all purchased from MTU. I'm running an HP Pavillion with a 700 Mhz Celeron processor. Windows ME OS. I have 511 MB RAM.
Currently I have available: 242.8MB of Physical Memory 1.59GB of Virtual Memory I've read many of the posts about ASPI drivers. Whenever I'm running MicroStudio, I close as many of the background processes as poss, to include virus Scan. I get 1, disc copied, and then, somewhere in the next disc, I get the following error: Error: 'WRITE' command failed on device 0:0:0 Insufficient resources to initialize ASPI manager Most of the time that this happens, it locks up the processor, and I have to do a "Hard" shutdown. I've gone to the thread for downloading ASPI drivers, I've even gone to Adaptec and downloaded drivers from there. When I run aspichk, it gives me the following: APIX VXD 4.71.1 WNASPI32.DLL 4.71.1 When I do a "search" for files named WnAspi9X.DLL I get 3 hits: c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS c:\Program Files\Music Match Jukebox the ver on all of these, is 1.0.0.1 What do I have to do to quit wasting discs and time? Thank you Skip Now, after attempting the various ASPI files, for whatever reason, MicroStudio doesn't recognize the Plextor burner. I can still play audio cd's on it, so my CPU sees it, just not Microstudio. My situation is deterioriating and and still no tech support on the horizon. It seems that there is an issue with the Operating system, this is not the actual driver issue with the ASPI drivers. Others on here might have a better clue to this, I know that Windows 98 and ME don't have correct support for Memory over 256mb. So when you bump it up to anything over 256, it does no good, but more harm to the OS.
Your best bet is to upgrade from Windows ME to XP, since Microsoft no longer supports Windows ME.

Skip:
I don't know if this will help or not. I also use Windows ME OS. I have 512k memory and I use Mitsui disks and a Plexwriter 24/10/40A. I received the same error message right after I upgraded to 2.4. I changed my driver setting in the program to use the Default Drivers and have not had a problem since. If you try this, just remember to shut down Microstudio and open it again for the new setting to take affect. I also set my read and write to "auto". I have now successfully copied over 450 disks plus custom performance cd's for shows I do with great success. Hope this helps.

Sirconch,
Have you tried this to see if it will help your system?

Cool! I have been complaing about this for type of problem
for awhile. Window xp will do the same type of thing, only I will get a about 5 discs burned and then the constant driver error screen starts showing up and it shuts the whole burning process down. The only thing I can do is close the program and open it and start all over again. I have found that burning at slower speeds helps. WHO UNDERSTANDS ALL THIS DRIVER STUFF anyway?
