Question Re: video adapter to video splitter

Just a thought, last week I bought a "AVlink 1x2 Distribution Amplifier 300 Mhz VGA Quad -xAG MSV12M" with USB & VGA connection ($60) local. USB Powers it and the VGA sends the video. It worked great on 2 extended monitors last week. I use Hoster 4.3 on a Toshiba dual 2 4 gig ram & 500 m HD. But I really wanted to have the video capable on the laptop too but can't seem to get that to work with a extended monitor. It seems it's one or the other. Tried all the configuration in Windows 7 but none give the laptop and extended video at the same time. Except, the small control window in the top left corner of Hoster on the laptop. When I'm out singing, I either have to have the extended monitor in view or try to read the small control window, boy my eye site isn't that good all the time.
Does anyone have an answer? Or is there something in the works for the next generation?

First off, is the laptop capable of dual display ? if in doubt list it's model # so we can tell also what graphics card it uses Intel, Ati, Nvidea.

Try this I'm assuming here this is the windows 7 laptop: Plug your adapter in and connect and power up the extended monitor, now start your computer when it's ready, do you not see anything on the extended monitor ?

If not right click on blank area of your desk top, from the fly out window click on "Screen Resolution" in this view you should see display 1 & 2 next to one another, if this is the case where it says multiple displays click the drop down arrow and select "Extend these Displays" then apply and OK.

If you are not seeing monitor 1 & 2 click detect and see if it finds it.

Let us know how you get on.

Re: video adapter to video splitter

Thanks Roy for getting back so quickly
I have a Toshiba L505, Satellite 4 gb Ram 64 bit OS Windows 7 Premium with Pentium Dual Core T4300 2.10 Ghz. Hoster 4.3

I can get and I do have the extended screen and Hoster video on it and it works great.

I wondered if it was possible to have one video playing the song and lyrics on the Laptop as well as the extended monitor too at the same time?

I have the small control screen window on the laptop at top left when I have an extended screen monitor.

But I do not have the Hoster video screen as when I don't have the extended screen monitor on the laptop.

If it is not possible, is it coming in a next generation of Hoster maybe?
Thanks

Re: video adapter to video splitter

The small screen in the main dialog can be detached and resized on the laptop, to do this go to Tools Tab/Show display/ Click the preview button and tick the box, undock and resize display, there is another option there for always on top you might want to try. Click Apply and close. Then shut down Hoster and restart it, after restarting you should be able to drag the screen by a corner and resize it.

If you are talking about Video type files these cannot be viewed in the small monitor, only CDG, MP3+G, Kma and conventional karaoke files.

I do not know if video will be viewable in later releases.

The only other way to see the same on extended as laptop is to choose the "Duplicate these displays" from the drop down box on the screen resolution dialog.

have you tried changing the resolution on the monitor, was the monitor on before you power up your laptop?..you can resize the screen by dragging the sides .
