Software to Modify Audio Portion of CDG Files

Can anyone recommend software that can be used to modify/customize the audio portion of CDG files? I have several Karaoke CDs that I would like to “customize” by extending songs by adding more music (music only – no lyrics to accompany). I want to extend the “into and outro” portions of the CDG while allowing the rest of the CDG to remain exactly as it was originally recorded.

I have done some Internet searching but have not found anything that describes that type of functionality. I thought Vegas Pro would be a option—I use that software to “clean up” music where there is a need to remove inappropriate lyrics from MP3 files, however, it does not appear to support CDG format.

Any and all help greatly appreciate!
Gwen

The only way I can think of to do what you want is to rip the cdg as an ordinary cd to mp3 then edit the music file in a music editor program like Audacity which is a free download.
Then load your new music file in KHpro and add a new lyrick file to it.
This can then be written to a CDG or stored as MP3+g file.

Roy,
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! No wonder I couldn't find anything suitable! If I used KHpro would I have to know how to synchronize the lyrics to the sound track?
Thanks a Ton!

Yes you would. As you have figured out there isn't any way to edit the lyrics graphics of a CDG or even an MP3+G. What you would be doing in KHPro would be adding in a whole new lyrics graphic after you enter new lyric text and sync it to the music.

In other words, you want more "Silence" on the intro, and outro correct?Mind if i ask why? Not sure, but i think i have a "loop" program that might allow doing this {For Audio Only}. With KHPro you can adjust the hold times of your credit pages? May have to rewrite them. Still not sure what you really want to do here. I don't know of any program that can alter a commercially written CDG. Not speaking of hoster's remove silence, or other features. They do not rewrite the cdg. Can you be a little more specific?

Re: Software to Modify Audio Portion of CDG Files

I actually want to increase the "play time" of the CDG by "mixing" more music into the intro and outro , that is, music copied from the "original" mp3 recording. Not an easy feat!

Thanks to all!
