Re: invalid parameter

It's probably encountered a Corrupted file. Did they all load in your previous instalation or are there files here that are new ?
I don't know if this will work but Can you note were it stops importing. Then try and find the next file in the list using widows explorer, then make a new folder to copy the rest of these files in deleting a few at a time until you find the one causing the problem. Then when you know which one is causing it delete it from your original folder.

Re: invalid parameter

I found the file that was at fault it was PI201-10.kma so I renamed it PI201 - 10.kma. All I did was add a space before and after the dash and it worked !!!!Why????? They should correct this bug by just telling you which file it hangs on so you can finish importing your hard drive files and then go back and rename or delete or whatever you need to do!!! Are you listening Admin? This problem cost me 5 hrs of research to fix, time I don't have!!

With all due respect, this is not a microstudio bug. Five hours to figure out which file was hanging? Always, always, always search back into the forum files.....i spend many quiet hours reading and studying what other users have come across, and the remedies to correct their situations. I jot down in my notebook, instructions dale, roy, and others have explained about a product. Renaming of files has come up often on this forum. A very common thing. This forum is a very valuable research tool. The postings on this forum, actually taught me how to operate hoster, microstudio, and other mtu software. Before i post, i always search. Enjoy this great software. Roy and dale are the man.....

Re: invalid parameter

What I'm saying Musicman is that I have a ton of other software in which if it gets hung up on a file it skips it, makes a note of that file and then finishes the job it was doing. I'm sure its just another of line of code to write to save people time. When I spend X amount of money on a software I expect it to perform. If I wanted to spend my time doing research after I've paid money I would go back to college....with respect.

Oh, by the way Musicman, I'm searching through 200,000+ KMA files, you reimport that many files and tell me how long it takes.

I've never had a situation where it didn't. I have several recording, and editing software suites in my studio...and by golly, i haven't found one yet i could use with out a learning curve. Or that hit a snag, and did a self diagnostic, and merly skiped over the problem. Just trying to save you some time is all. Most generally.....if i have had a problem with any software, be it hoster, Band in a box, cubase 5.5, cakewalk, sonar or any of the other recording editing software i use. Someone else before me has had the same problem or as we like to call it "Situation" before. Now, if it's an inconvenience for you to look back on the forum as a self help guide, then all i can say is good luck. Believe it or not, some people also never bother to even read the owners manual either. Have a pleasent day
