Loading other singers discs

With 3.319 when loading other singers songs while someoneelse is singing it interupts the song twice and also loads considerably slower than previous versions. I up my memory to 2gb's. This did not help. What to do?

Thanks BillyO. I thought maybe that might be it. This helps me to make a decision to purchase MTU's cd/dvd internal drive. Thanks again!

something is hogging resources.

The manual has a number of tweaks in the trouble shooting section to free up resources

Also something to try would be go to Tools/Audio Controls and change the buffer to B or C and see if that helps.

Importing songs

Someone wrote in and said they bought a cd/dvd drive from MTU and this solved all there problems with songs dropping out when importing other singers songs. I just recently bought a new drive. It's Lite On ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P 9P54. What's different about MTU's drive that made all the problems go away. If someone could clear that up for me then I may purchase on from MTU.

Thanks

Teddy, to try to do an engineering analysis of every drive out there, or even yours and ours, is... impossible. The manufacturers no longer give specs like they used to.

Simply put, its a different drive.

We don't make money on our drives even though we do have a markup. The testing, rejects, return documents, return freight, accounting, etc. eats up our markup and then some. We sell them only because we KNOW they will work.

We have done everything, let me say again... EVERYTHING... we can to make Microstudio and Hoster work with as many drives as possible. Hoster works with your drive, but your drive WON'T WORK for the demanding situation of playing a song and importing a Singer's disc track. Our software is working with your drive as best as can be expected.

You were one of 4 persons who identified yourselves as dropping audio playing while importing. Here are the current results:

1. Scott replaced his CD/DVD drive with an MTU drive and is working
2. Kedmison reported he found a technical fix that worked for him.
3. Delores reported that Kedmison's fix worked for her too.
4. You're the only one we're still trying to get working Did you try kedmison's fix? If so, then return your drive and buy an MTU one.

I'll guarantee our drive will solve your problem or we'll refund your money.

We have tens of thousands of Hoster users. I'm surprised (and happy) ONLY 4 reported this problem!!!

3.319 audio tempo change problem while importing singer's disc

I am not happy with 3.319. When I first downloaded 3.319 I lost half my songs. Fortunately I had them backed up on an external drive. I'm still having trouble with loading other singers songs while someoneelse is singing. The music gliches twice and the songs load considerably slower. Hoster 3.312 was the best. Anything after that I personally had problems with. Now tonight 2/11/08 I had a show and when I booted up my computer half of my 10 thousand plus songs were gone. I had to get my cd's out and use them. I can't go back to 3.312 because I forgot to copy the product code. I can't begin to say how dissappointed I am.

try updating the firmware of your cd/dvd drive, see if that works and also don't forget to do your windows custom updates.

do you have all your kma files on your ext. drive ? or you have some of then in your int. drive, make sure you plug in your ext. drive before you power up your pc/laptop , try rebuilding the song database, if you have your songs on 2 drives try doing the merge song database, when rebuilding your songs select the drive(s) where your files are and hi-lite them , then click on delete ,then click on select again choose the same drive( s) then click on rebuilt..( do the same with merge )..if rebuilding song database doesnt work..

Read this Post about Hoster 3.320, and then download and install it.

The problem is in 3.318 and 3.319, now fixed in 3.320.

We too thought we had a virus when we unknowingly lost files not related to Hoster at all. We are confident we found the code that along with Windows' random operations did the NTSF index damage. We are confident we have fixed the problem, but only you folks seeing the problem repeatedly can tell us it is fixed.

Thank you for your patience. We truly are sorry this happened, and believe we have solved it.

So far, we don't know what is causing audio glitching while importing Singers disc tracks. VERY FEW users are experiencing this, so it "appears" to be system related.

WE SUSPECT... it is probably made worse by lower computer RAM and slower graphics cards with less RAM. We now recommend 512MB for Windows 2000, 1GB for XP and 2GB for Vista and at least 64MB Video RAM.

One of our Beta Testers has a REALLY OLD Matrox graphics card with 32MB RAM. When he upgraded his Windows .NET to 2.0, all his problems disappeared.

Think about it... as you upgrade Windows, it uses more RAM than it did before. Also, every release of Hoster contains new features that add more demands on the CPU, hard drive and graphics card.

Going back to 3.310 is one solution, but I encourage you to at least try 3.320. You can still return to 3.310 if it doesn't fix all the problems here.

I wish I could say that upgrading to 3320 worked, but it did not. Went back to 3310, and all is well. I really don't know what to say, I have done all updates, and defraged. It's just wierd. Something is screwing with the processing speed or the sound card. I am no where near computer smart, but can anything in the new programs mess with the speed or the sound?

Scott, can you tell us what failed for you?

Was it still dropping audio while importing a CDG disc?

If that is the case, please read the manual installation section on changes to make to Windows to prevent audio dropouts and make them if not done already.

I am not having problems with audio drop out, I am having problems with the tempo of the music slowing down and static while loading a singers disk. Once the disk loads, the tempo goes back to normal but, the words do not match the music. I thought I had it all worked out by going back to 3310, but saturday night it happened again. I do not know how to check the video memory, but like i said before, this computer is MTU built. You used a radeon 9200, if that helps. Device Manager says evrything is running fine, scan disk didn't come up with anything. I have 1.5 Gig of Ram, so I am confused. Could the Plextor 712A be going bad? I have also noticed that when I insert a disk, the yellow light blinks anywhere lately from 30 seconds to 2 min. before it turns green. a couple of times, it has just stayed a steady yellow. I have always just blamed the disk. i just need it fixed soon. HELP ME ADMIN!!!!!
