![]() I have a Copy Master plexwriter that I purchased from Octave systems. I have approximately 1500 cdg's that I am lugging around to work. I want to put them all on a laptop. All the othe karaoke kj's in my area have their cdg's on a laptop. How would I do that. Is it easy, and how would I form a list. Do I need to buy a certain program? I haven't bought a Laptop yet. Can anyone help me. I really don't know what I need to buy or what I have to do. And to say I am computer illiterate, would be putting it mildly. I need something simple and easy.Thank you for any help you can give me.

Read the information on the main website on Hoster. MTU also sells a laptop that is guaranteed to work for karaoke and with their programs. With this information then come back and ask questions. And the best way to do that is to start a new thread and not to tag a post on to the end of someone elses thread. Welcome to the world of computerized karaoke.

I split your post to a separate thread under Hoster Help, which is the software you need to run your show.
As Dale indicated, MTU does offer two Laptop computers for running CDG Karaoke shows. Ruggedized Laptop that is shock mounted and drop resistant, and LC Laptop that is lower cost. Both come installed with our Hoster software... for hosting karaoke shows. Please read the Hoster web page for an overview. You can download the Hoster free demo and test it. While it is running, click its Help menu, then the Hoster Manual command to view the manual. You also might want to read in the "Singers and Hosts Wisdom" Forum here for tips on what others are talking about. I'm sure some of it will help you along on your journey. If you have more questions, we'll be glad to answer. When you view this Thread, to ask a question click the "Post Reply" button and type it in the screen that appears. |

elitekaraoke,
Please don't take this wrong. If as you say you are that new to computers, I'd suggest that you go to a community college if there's one in your community and take a short continuing ed evening course in computer basics, or buy a book on computer basics, something of that nature. I've even heard that some libraries offer short courses on the subject. At the very lkeast, some public libraries havd computers available for public use. You can get a handle on the basics doing that. Any of this can be done while you are making your purchases, loading your music library into the computer, and learning to use the program. I believe it would make your transition a lot more enjoyable. Hope this is received in the same spirit of good will it is intended. |
