If you are choosing your files through the browser for the Write Disc screen, you will only see file names in the format of "DiscID.kma" (TT069-1.kma) which doesn't tell you what they are. And if you have a lot of songs (5000+) as most of us do it will take a while for them to load.
Here are a couple of better ways to do this. Method 1 Open Hoster, selectTools/Rebuild Database and copy the folder path listed. Close (without executing) the rebuild window. Open MicroStudio, select Tools/Default folder and paste the folder path you copied. This makes sure they are the same. Click on Karaoke Files button to see file list in the left side window. If you have a large number of songs expect to wait a while as MS has to read the KMA headers to get artist and title information. Since you are using an external drive it will take more time. Select the songs you want and add them to playlist. Then click on the button above playlist to add them to the write disk. Method 2 Alternative is to leave the default folder for MS set to a location on the internal HD, use explorer and copy the files you want from the external to the internal default folder. Then when you click on the Karaoke Files button it will be faster loading in the information. You will find your burn speed will be faster too. Select the songs you want and add them to playlist. Then click on the button above playlist to add them to the write disk. Note In both cases I would not try to fill the disc completely, but leave 4-5 minutes worth free. This is a cushion in case some song time lengths aren't absolutely accurate. Hope this helps.

Can't see KMA files to burn disc
I tried ddpuglass method 2 for a test run to burn a disc from KMA files. I just copied 4 songs to a folder on my internal hard drive. The song list shows the 4 songs and I move them to the play list. I click on the "Add song to write list" then open Write disc. Nothing shows up. When I select the folder the KMA's are in, nothing shows up. Am I missing a step. Can't see any KMAs files to burn to disc.
