Hoster crash

Using new MTU laptop with 3.300. Hoster is crashing randomly when trying to import patrons discs. Sometimes it will import fine; other times it says it's looking for disc and to reinsert. It has crash Hoster the last 2 nights out. Read the previous posts where this was happening with older versions. Wondering if anyone is still having this problem. The new laptop has the internal Philips CDRW/DVD. I have an older MTU laptop that has an Internal Plextor. I am wondering if I should swap the plextor drive to my new laptop. Thoughts or suggestions.

Kelly,

Please answer these questions:

1. Which import method are you using in this case? Are you pressing the "CDG" button on the Hoster playlist screen? Or are you selecting "Import CD Tracks" from the "Import Tracks" menubar?

2. Also, what track number from the disc is causing you problems? Or is this problem caused by importing any track?

3. By "crash", do you mean that Hoster aborts and you get the Windows message asking if you want to report a problem? Or does Hoster lock up, forcing you to use the Task Manager to terminate Hoster?

admin & MTUSUPPORT

ok here is what i have come up with:

when i try and import a cdg into the database using my scsi Plextor CD-Rom PX-32TS it fails and gives me the windows error and allows me to send error or not..

when i use my plextor (i have 2 cd-roms) CD-R PX-W124TS i can import cdg into my collection, when i play a song from the database and add a singers cdg it goes through the process correctly and when i close the import screen then it fails and gives me the option to close and send error.

i bet this has soemthing to do with the new thing they added to read more cd-roms.

dclark,

1. CDG button.

2. Doesn't make any difference which number.

3. By crash I mean Hoster crashes. It turns it self off. Not Windows.

And there seems to be no rhyme or reason. It make work twice and then the next few times it won't. So until I find the solution, I don't play patrons discs. Which for me isn't that big of a problem. Most sing what I have in my system.

As per other previous post, this problem definitely occurs when using Non-Plextor drives. Part of the upgrade in 3.3 was to support other drives.
So far I haven't heard anyone report being able to use a non-plextor drive now that did not work prior to the upgrade. This part of the upgrade clearly has some bugs to work out of it.
