Unhappy cda files

Help!!! I am totally lost. I purchased Keyrite, then purchased MicroStudio when I read that I needed Microstudio to access .cda files from karaoke discs so that I could run them through Keyrite and change the key.

So far, I can't get either programme to do anything except tell me that none of my files are .wav or .cdg (something of which I am well aware). It also tells me that neither my cd-r or dvd drives contain .cdg or .wav files - no, they are .cda!!!

How does one get a .cda file off of a karaoke disc into the hard drive and convert it to .cdg or .wav in order to change the key in Keyrite??? I don't care if the lyrics ever show up again... they're redundant. I am quite happy to use .wav files which I can then burn onto cd's for my use.

Please do not tell me I just wasted hours of my time and $$$$US converted to $$$Cdn at an undesireable exchange rate!!!
