Thanks for Listing Your Computer Specs

Thanks to: Roy Dennis, Karaoke Kiwi, Hawaiian, and Lonman for posting their computer specs on their answers to the many questions on this forum. I'm sure I missed some others who have also included their specs, because I haven't read their posts.

However, It's nice to know what computers work with Hoster. This way when I shop for a laptop to use with Hoster, I have some idea about what works. I only want a laptop to use at home and parties, but I don't want to have problems, like I am now because I don't have enough RAM.

Thanks again,
Wes

Re: Thanks for Listing Your Computer Specs

I honestly think the bare minimum is usually good enough as far as what is required. It's what else is done with the computer that usually brings up issues. My show computer only has XP and 2 gb ram, smaller processor than some run (great video & sound card added to it) & has never hiccup'd, however it is never used for anything else BUT Hoster, exclusively built for shows - never see's internet except for the occasional update when I get a chance to pull it out of it's cage and nothing else has ever been run on it except for WMP for my slideshow in between songs.
My test computers are used for anything & everything. Sometimes I even try to purposely go against certain recommendations just to see what will happen, so far I have no negative reports to push so I don't know what to make of that.

Robster,

It's beenalmost a year between your request and my response, but at the bottom you'll see my new computer. I had some problems with seeing the lyrics, but the good folks on this forum were able to get me up and running.

How do you get WMP slideshow to display on the extended screen in between Hoster songs? When I tried dragging it over the entire window shows & I had to mouse over to the second screen to hit play & pause in-between. Or are you using Hoster's Intermission?
