before you delete hoster, make sure you have your download link saved to a cdrom, you only have i believe 15 days to download your upgrades..

First I think you need to set some rights so you can see all the files. This may be why it didn't work the first time. Open Windows Explorer. Go to the Tools/Folder Options at the top. Then click on the View tab at top. Check Display contents of system folders and Show hidden files and folders. Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types and Hide protected operating system files.

Now go to C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster folder and delete contents (unless you have your song files in the Songs folder then don't delete that folder).

Next go to registry and find HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster and delete that key. Also go to HKey_Current_User\Software\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster
Here is the instructions on how to do this. http://www.mtu.com/kb/index.php?acti...7cbdf94a54101f

Then you should be able to re-install.

One question though. On the CD you are trying to install from do you have the hoster3315setup.exe file or is it a link to where you downloaded it from?
If it is only the link then you will need to submit a ticket to request a copy of the file again. This time save the file not the link.

Billyo, saving the download link will not do any good. You need to actually download the file and save it to a safe location.

Ok I did this

Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types and Hide protected operating system files

C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster folder and delete contents

HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster and I delete that key

Left click the Start Menu and click Run.
Type in regedit and click OK or Open.
Go to the very top of the Registry Editor. It you already see the Registry Keys expanded below, skip this step and go to the next step. Click the + beside My Computer.
Click the + Beside HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Click the + beside SOFTWARE
Click the + beside Micro Technology Unlimited
Click the + beside Hoster
Click Default to select it. WARNING! Be VERY careful to have this exact location selected. If not and you proceed, you could damage your Windows installation, requiring it to be re-installed to fix it. BE VERY CAREFUL! With Default selected, press the Delete Key Click Yes when it asks you if you are sure.
Click the X in the Top Right corner to close the Registry Editor.
Open Hoster. It will be as if you started from scratch.

Thin I tryed to reinstall and it says that it did reinstall but I look in the Hoster folder and theres nothing in there

The CD I have is 3.120 Hostersetup.exe

When Hoster installs it creates a shortcut icon on the desktop. It this there? If so right click on it, go to properties (bottom of list) and look at the "Target". What does it say in that block?
Click ok. Then double click on the icon. Does Hoster open up?

No its not there anymore That was my Ordinal problem I was geting a "Hoster.exe - Ordinal Not Found"

So I went to my c:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster folder
And it wasnt there that was my first post on this problem

when I Start\Settungs\Control Panel\Add\RemovePrograms\Hoster

It wont let me remove All of Hoster I get a 5001 : 0x3e6 error
error code: -5001

And now the short cut is gone

And every thing in the C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster is gone to

So I think I need to remove all of Hoster and start all over I`veGot all my songs back up but I dont know how to redo Hoster with out a windows reboot ??

Are you running this computer as an administrator or a user? It sounds like you don't have enough permissions to do anything.

Have you not rebooted/restarted the computer during all of this? When you do a full install it requires a restart to complete it.

I might add that you really should purchase an upgrade (unless you meant to type 3.312 then it is free) because the version you have is way behind a lot of advances that MTU has made to make Hoster work better.

I can't guarantee that. I am just a user like you. You said it started about 2 weeks ago. Do you remember anything you installed or changed just before it quit?
You might try to see if you can restore your computer to a point just before this happened and see if that fixes it. Then create a new restore point and add any programs or updates one at a time and see which install caused the problem.

You going to start from scratch? If you have any registration problems just open a ticket and MTUSupport can reset them for you so install will complete. I wish we could figure this out but I can't think of any thing else to try.

When you installed Hoster and opened the program it ran the database build function, but you didn't have the files in the folder yet. So after you copied the files back to the folder then you need to rebuild the database.

To rebuild the database, run Hoster, click the Tools menu, click the Build Songs Database command. In the dialog box that appears, be sure your folders where your KMA songs are stored appear in the list window. If not, click the Add Folders button, locate them and add them to the list.

After rebuilding it, all your songs should appear again.
