Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

Do you have Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 installed? If so, there's a program in there called TAKE TWO that caused so many problems that Roxio has taken it out of their package.

Their upgrades do not include it. Don't know specifically what the problems were, but it may be another possibility if you have Roxio.

Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

You might try deleting WMP. If WMP is not there, it can not automatically try to rip a CD. Create a restore point before you do it if you are using Windows XP. This should work. If it does, reinstall WMP. If if does not work, you can restore via the restore point you created and your computer will be as it was before you deleted. If you are not using Windows XP, reinstall WMP Version 10 which is available from Microsoft. I use a different program for my player, so I tell WMP not to be the default player for anything except WMA files including video. This way it does not try to autorun.

Hope this helps

Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

Deleting WMP worked. I was already using WMP10. I'm kinda torn about restoring things the way they were though. My cumputer isn't allowing me to reinstall WMP10 again for some reason. At least Hoster works now!

Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

if that is the case it sounds like some thing is corrupt
in the operating system
if you want things back all the way you may have to reinstall windows again
with a fresh install

but thats up to you

Re: 2.219 Importing with no AUDIO

I am glad that at least hoster is working for you now. You mentioned in one of your earlier posts that you had re-installed Hoster 2.219 hoping to fix the problem and that did not fix it. If everything was working fine before you installed Hoster 2.219, I suggest you restore to the time before the intial installation of Hoster 2.219. If you do not like it after you do it, you can reverse it. However, if everything was working fine before the intial install of Hoster 2.219 and you restore your computer to a point before that installation then you could re-install Hoster 2.219 again, making sure that WMP is working properly before you do and making sure that autoinsert notification for all your cd burners etc. is turned off. Also, in WMP make sure that WMP is not the default player for any files except WMA audio and video video files. I would try this before I consider wiping the drive and re-installing the operating system. It's possible that something you did prior to installing Hoster 2.219 corrupted a registry entry and if you do a restore, it should take the registry files back to a point before they got corrupted or an improper entry was made.

Hope this helps
