Questions About Background Audio Player

I really like this feature not only between karaoke songs, but maybe to use to play music before and after the show.

Like most KJ's I have different venues that require different song playlists.
And sometimes a different playlist before and after the same show.
So to take the first 200 files off of a given folder would require to have several folders to use sort of like playlists, but it seems to me if you have some of the same songs in different playlists that could take a lot of hard drive space. Am I looking at this wrong.

Re: Questions About Background Audio Player

Maybe. Have you tried using the new KMH format to index your audio songs in Hoster? If so, you could make up multiple playlists just like you add singers to the list. Then save the playlist. You can save multiple playlists. Then you could open those playlists at will to get where you want to go. It is easy to add requested songs using the Hoster search this way too.

I have not indexed all my audio yet, but I am going to get that done before St Pat's Day. I don't do karaoke on that day (it's just too busy) and will be giving it a thorough test as a DJ program that day.

Re: Questions About Background Audio Player

Thank you, I'll check the manual cause I'm not sure what you are saying. Maybe once I play with this feature for a while I can come back here and ask an intelligent question if I need to.

Thanks again, Stu

Re: Questions About Background Audio Player

I understand how to add the mp3 songs as kmh, but I don't see how you can then use those songs in the background audio place???

Re: Questions About Background Audio Player

The way I work mine is I have the mp3s in a folder. Point to the folder for "background audio" and then it picks up all the songs in the folder. I just made several different folders with mixes of mp3s inside and change to whichever folder needed.........

Deeter is correct you have to use MP3 in Background Audio. Future plan is to be able to create BA playlists in Hoster and play them in the BA player.

What I was talking about was using the regular player for the DJ situation instead of the Background Audio player by first importing audio songs into Hoster. Load the audio songs into the regular Hoster player, then save the playlist.

Creating several mp3 folders was what I was planning to do. I think that could take a lot of hard drive space when you put many of the same mp3 songs in different folders.

I know when you create playlists in Windows Media Player and Itunes it doesn't take up any more space because it just points to the same folder for each playlist, but if you have a master mp3 folder which I have and several different mp3 folders for all the different venues then you could be duplicating some of the same songs in different folders and was wondering if someone came up with another more efficient way of doing this

Thanks, Stu

Re: Questions About Background Audio Player

Afraid that is the way you will have to do it for now or do as Marklwood said and use Hoster to play the MP3. This what my wife does because she just plays music before we start and not between karaoke singers.
