Trying to use my second download

I keep trying to download my 2nd download but it tells me my authoriztion code is incorrect and go back to my account for the correct one. I have copied and pasted the code but doesn't help.

What version did you purchase, because the download version from the store will always be the current release which is 4.08 right now. If your purchase wasn't for 4.0X then the code will not work for it.
If you purchased an upgrade to 4.0X then you have to make sure and find that code.
A word to the wise - always save the download rather than using the "Run" so you will have a copy and not have to download it again.

2nd download

I tried first to download 3.21 and the code wouldn't work. I then loaded 4.08 and it accepted the new authorization code, but it shows that my DVD/CD-Rom which is a Mashita UJ-841S is bad. I found the tread where they were saying that this is a problem with 4.08 and should reinstall 4.08 then load 3.21, and then reload 4.08. I tried this but still cannot get past the authoriztion code. anyone have any ideas?

If you are comfortable making registry changes, then go into regedit, find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Default and click on that folder. On the right side find KnownDriveState001, right click on it and choose Modify. Then change the value to "1" from "0". Close the Regedit.
Then open Hoster and the drive should list as good.

cd drive

Thanks I did the regedit procedure and the drive does show "good" with the button along side of it saying "bad". It will not read a karaoke disk at all. I did check out the drive and it functions properly as a dvd/cd recorder, just won't read karaoke disk. I tried to import and it just sets there trying to record but never completes. When I just try to play a track on the disk it says " Invalid Selection, you must add a valid book id".

Thanks
Dan

Hoster cannot play a file directly from the CD. You would have to import one track using the Disc button which is a temporary import. Even some drives that will read DVD and CD do not read CDG correctly, so it is possible that the drive will not work. So in that case the program was correct to state that the drive was bad. You change that back to reflect this by hitting the Retest button on the left.

drive

Yes that is what I meant just didn't say it right, I tried to import a track using the disk tab. I suspect that this drive just won't read cdg. Thanks for your help.

Is this a laptop or a desktop type of computer? If it is a laptop you can get a USB drive to use from MTU or if it is a desktop they have an internal drive you can add to your computer.

cd drive won't read cdg

After reading another thread about having to load an earlier version before loading 4.08, I tried to do this and 3.21 would not allow my authorization code to go through, the original code was lined out and a new one was given that matched the code for the 4.08 download. I could download 4.08 using the code given, but then I had the problem with the d: drive showing as bad and unable to read a cdg disk. Could this be because I was unable to download the 3.21 version?

drive

Thanks for the info but I have already tried that, it did show as good, but still would not read the drive. As I mentioned earlier could it be that 3.21 did not load before I loaded 4.08? 3.21 would not accept my authorization code. The original code was lined out and the new code listed beside it, which was the same code as 4.08.
Any other Ideas?
Dan

Dan most likely this means the drive cannot read CDG disks. Since you have not used this laptop before for Hoster or Microstudio and don't know for sure the drive is bad do not assume that it will work. Not all drives and especially a lot of laptop drives don't have the capability. It does not have anything with not having been able to install 3.321.
As far as the install for 3.321 you would need to use the lined out reg code to install it not the one for 4.08. Any time MTU releases a new major version change they require a new registration code which is issue when you buy the upgrade.

drive

I sure your right about just not being able to read cdg's, maybe i'll just use this in case of emergency as I do have it where I can use the program now. but do I need 3.21, even though it did not install to make 4.08 work properly. and I did try the lined out # and it did not install with it.
Thanks for your info, I appreciate it.

You do not need the 3.321 to make 4.08 work correctly. Each upgrade is a complete program. Everything should be working correctly it is just that your drive isn't compatible. You are good to go except for importing singer's disks.
