Also - Beavis do you still run on 256mb RAM or did you upgrade it B4 changing to 4.08? Will my system still run without any problems with what I have if I upgrade?
If you don't use the computer for anything other than Hoster and don't try to use a lot of videos you should probably be all right. also run through this list and make sure you have everything done on it: http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster/xp-changes.htm
Also make sure you video has at least 128MB of memory for it as 4.08 is much more graphic intense than any of the 3.XXX were. Read all the additions for the 4.0X series and you will see how much they have changed it and added to it.

KJunkies, I would check and see if there is a memory upgrade for that laptop to see if you could take it up a bit. What make and model is it?
Also there is another site that can help you turn off unnecessary processes that will help too. It is http://www.blackviper.com/ and is several lists compiled by the individual to help people set up their computers. There is one there for doing XP.

Wink

Thanks Dale.

I have an ASUS Z92Mseries. I haven't had any 'RAM' based issues thus far so I haven't needed to try to fix things. I will save that website for the future when it inevitably all goes wrong. Unfortunately, for me, good things never last forever.... especially when it comes to computers
